RAID (or redundant array of independent disks) is a type of data storage virtualization technology that includes numerous physical hard disk drives in one logical unit. Its main purposes are storing redundant data (multiple copies of the same data) and improving performance. It can serve both purposes simultaneously if it is configured to do so. There are many levels of RAID, including RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10, among others.
In computing, replication involves the sharing of information. It is used to ensure the consistency between redundant resources, such as software and hardware. It improves reliability, fault-tolerance and accessibility. Data replication is when the same set of data is stored on multiple devices. Computation replication is when the same task is executed multiple times. In systems that replicate data or services, there is both active and passive replication. Active replication is performed by processing the same request at every replica. Passive replication is the processing of each request on a single replica, then transferring its result to other replicas.

A patch cable (also referred to as a patch cord or patch lead) is an optical cable which is used to connect one electronic device to another one. Different types of devices (e.g. a switch to a router or switch connected to a computer) are connected with patch cords. Usually produced in many different colors (so they are easily distinguishable), patch cords are usually shorter than 2 meters in length. There are a variety of patch cable types, including: microphone cables, headphone extension cables, XLR connectors, RCA connectors, Tiny Telephone (TT) connectors, modular Ethernet cables and thicker snake cables. The term “patch cords” generally refers to short cords used in conjunction with patch panels.
A patch panel is a board in a switchboard, computer or other device with an assortment of electric sockets that can be connected in various combinations. It can also be referred to as a patch bay, patch field or jack field. Patch panels are used to connect and route circuits for monitoring, interconnecting and testing circuits in an easy and flexible manner. They are used in computer networking, recording studios, radio and television. In some applications, dedicated switching equipment can make routing as easy as pressing a button, and enable you to route a signal to multiple destinations simultaneously.
A computer wall plate is a cover used on a wall opening for electrical and networking outlets. It is generally rectangular in shape, and can feature a variety of jacks, including: HDMI, coaxial and Ethernet jacks. Wall plates allow the cable/s to come through the wall while still covering the large opening in the wall. They are an essential element in permanent networking installations because they allow you to easily connect or disconnect workstations. You can get either flush (flat like AC outlets) or angled wall plates. Angled wall plates are considered a better choice because they offer superior protection against excessive cable bending due to heavy or sharp-edged furniture.

On Server Editions of Windows 7, you can remotely access the server at the same time another user is physically using the machine, using Universal Termsrv.dll Patch. By default, when you connect to a remote computer using Remote Desktop, it forces the user in front of the computer to log off. Being logged in concurrently can be very handy because it allows two people to use a single computer’s resources at the same time. It is also helpful in situations where you want to access the files on your home computer from school or work, while someone is using the machine at home. With the “concurrent sessions” hack, you can do this without disrupting the user sitting at the computer. In order to set up concurrent sessions, you will first need to download the Universal Termsrv.dll Patch by DeepXW and unzip it. Choose the appropriate file based on your version of Windows – UniversalTermsrvPatch-x86.exe for 32-bit and UniversalTermsrvPatch-x64.exe for 64-bit. Right-click .exe file and select “Run as Administrator.” After the patch has been applied, restart your machine. There is a simple test you can run to ensure concurrent sessions are working: simply leave the machine on with a user logged in, then connect to the machine remotely using a different user account. If successful, both users will be logged on and active.
